The hallelujah Diet

For a while, it appeared that only the medical establishment was aware of obesity and the problems it causes to health. Well this has all changed in the last few years. There are some preachers who also noticed that their obese parishioners have been bursting pews in church. One of these preachers is Reverend Malkmus. Therefore, Reverend Malkmus and his wife Rhonda wanted to do a good deed for the community and came up a diet book. These two faithful disciples claim that the book was written as per God’s instructions. The book is appropriately called the hallelujah diet.

The hallelujah diet is all about raw foods. On this diet one cannot eat more than 15% processed or cooked foods- this means no hot dogs, corn dogs or French fries. Reverend Malkmus says that the diet is based on foods that man ate when they used to live in caves. In 4000 BC, man ate every thing raw because there were no McDonalds or Kentucky fried chicken. The Reverend also claims that in those days man did not get fat and the church pews never got damaged.

Even though the diet has a lot of bulk, it is very low in calories. It is practically impossible to put on any weight with this diet because the choice of foods is very limited. The foods are basically plants combined with various juices. In fact, there is more juice in this diet than any solids. Reverend Malkmus strongly believes that juices can help revitalize the body and remove all the toxins (I wonder why he did not call it the juice diet- perhaps there is another book coming out?).

Reverend Malkmus also strongly recommends health supplement foods like vitamins, aromatic oils, and digestive enzymes. These substances can help digest food and help clean the bowels. The great thing about these foods is that one can get them at church. Rev. Malkmus and his wife run a big health food supplement store and will even deliver. During each congregation, the Reverend does make it a point for worshippers to know about his website and what he sells. Moreover, there are flyers all over the place on what supplements are on sale.

Reverend Malkmus also recommends some type of exercise with this diet- at least 30 minutes of going outside- preferably walking rather than sitting. He and his wife believe that a good dose of sunshine is great for the soul.
