The Morning Banana Diet

Who would have ever though that Japan, of all places would come out with a weight loss diet recipe known as the Morning Banana diet. This land of the Rising Sun more famous for it cars, iPods and DVDS also appears to have some fat people. Japanese have always been known to eat right, exercise, eat a lot of sea food, and have a long life span. So what is up with this Morning Banana Diet?

Well, a few years ago, a famous Japanese opera singer (Kumiko Mori) claimed on national news that she had lost at least 15 pounds in weight by eating bananas in the morning (I had to read this twice because initially I thought “playing with bananas?”). Well, word got around and Hitoshe Watanabe, who is a close friend of Ms Mori,,decided to develop a morning banana diet.

Well, Kumiko’s voice about the diet took the country by storm, Everyone in Japan was rushing off to buy bananas. For a time one could find bananas in all of Japan. Even the traditional sumo wrestlers were into this diet. Kumiko was everywhere- on night shows, magazines, TV, and radio were all talking about this diet. Kumiko was even invited by her American Japanese colleagues to come to Hollywood. Finally here was a fruit which most people thought had only potassium in it- but now it was the magic pill to weight loss.

The morning banana diet is nothing magical. In the morning, you eat some warm bananas. Then you are allowed to eating whatever you want for the rest of the day but have to stop before 8 pm. One is not allowed to eat great food likes ice cream, no dairy products, alcohol, or any dessert. But water is encouraged. And one more great thing with the banana diet – no exercise. Wow the Japanese are the best and that is what everyone else said- over and over again.
